Our CAM certificate program comprises of three courses and 140 hours of training on fundamentals of CNC Programming, Introduction to MasterCAM X8, and techniques to operate 3 axis milling machines using this software. The students will also learn techniques of tooling optimization and how to program 4 and 5 axis machines in addition to milling.

By the end of this program you will know how to:

  • Create and edit part drawings
  • Choose the appropriate tools to machine a part
  • Preview tool paths and NC programs using the software
  • Generate G codes using the software
  • Select geometry and cutting planes
  • Edit part geometry and tool paths
  • Verify the tool paths via simulation using the software
  • Identify multi axis machines and conditions where multi axis machining is required, etc.
  • Optimize a complex CNC program
  • Modify parts, tool paths, and co-ordinate systems
