Milling Level 2 - MasterCAM (CAM 202)

In the first part of this course students learn advance methods for machining surfaces, deep pocket, steep surfaces by utilizing existing advanced tools and by creating custom ones. Optimization through shorter tool path and increasing cutting feeds-speeds are another focus are in this course. In the second part of this course students will learn about Turning Centres. Spindle (chuck) and material set, tool selection and canned cycle methods are some topics covered on the second part.

  1. Tool path types (roughing, scallop, radial, finishing etc.)
  2. Back plot, quick verify
  3. Stock setup, height control
  4. Machine selection (lathe, mill, etc.)

  1. Select geometry and cutting planes
  2. Edit part geometry and tool paths
  3. Verify the tool paths via simulation using the software
